After our very successful event, launching Yashodhara Lal<\/b>‘s new book “When Love Finds You<\/i>“, with Harper Collins India, we hosted an Open Mic session.
\nThe topic of discussion in the house was “What Women Really Want” and the winner of our Open Mic, Roopala Saxena<\/b>,\u00a0brought a brand-new perspective with her soul-touching poem.
\nThe 19-year-old from Delhi University has her own Blog Page and writes regularly in her free time.
\nBelow is the poem she wrote and recited:<\/strong><\/span>
\n“Beneath the sea, beyond the sky,<\/em>
\nAt the heaven\u2019s brink, dreams float and fly.<\/em>
\nThe glittering eyes, the squeaky voice,<\/em>
\nThe prettiest pallor, Oh World, REJOICE!<\/em>
\nThe rising hope, the glowing dawn,<\/em>
\nEnters the world, the golden fawn.<\/em>
\nHere departs despair, and loss diminished,<\/em>
\nHere shines a new light,<\/em>
\nOh World, get REPLENISHED!<\/em>
\nToo less to learn, too much to give,<\/em>
\nWith the stream of knowledge, she wished to live.<\/em>
\nHow hard she tries, how can one insist!<\/em>
\nA <\/em>power, unbound. Oh Girl, RESIST!<\/em>
\nThe one who cheers, who lends a hand.<\/em>
\nUnconditional love<\/a>, in a no man\u2019s land!<\/em>
\nWho owns the worries, so others <\/em>elate.<\/em>
\nThe strongest pillar, Oh World, RELATE!<\/em>
\nHer excellent strive, the endless pains.<\/em>
\nRising high, her goal she gains.<\/em>
\nThe will to win, with self-esteem.<\/em>
\nThe new era, and begins her REGIME!<\/em>
\nDaring to dream, of <\/em>coloured rainbows.<\/em>
\nNo matter who <\/em>reaps, all that she <\/em>sows.<\/em>
\nThe brook goes on, with her soothing effect.<\/em>
\nWho maligns her, she should REJECT!<\/em>
\nBut now comes the waning moon,<\/em>
\nHow time changes, with sorrow soon!<\/em>
\nThe shattered glass, the <\/em>hue and cry,<\/em>
\nBut firm in opinion, Oh Girl, RETRY!<\/em>
\nTurning events, she blossoms spring.<\/em>
\nFreezing the gloom, that winters bring.<\/em>
\nShe welcomes joy, ready to evolve.<\/em>
\nFailing failure, Oh Girl, RESOLVE!<\/em>
\nNow the day brightens, for the sun shines yet again!<\/em>
\nHere sprouts another life, the final gain to her pain.<\/em>
\nLeading the way, her strengthened clarity,<\/em>
\nShe shapes the past, the future, the REALITY!<\/em>
\nThe pained shoulders, the wrinkled face,<\/em>
\nThe silvered locks, yet something left to trace.<\/em>
\nShe lived and gave. Love did she endorse.<\/em>
\nAnd life\u2019s curtain fell, Alas, REMORSE!<\/em>
\nHer glorious past, her vision for future,<\/em>
\nWell she was sure, the world would nurture.<\/em>
\nAll that she did, with soul and mind,<\/em>
\nWell she was sure, the world would REWIND, the world would REWIND!”<\/em><\/p>\n
